Is the container really safe to use in the microwave?
Yes, you read that correctly—these steel containers are microwave-safe. We know we’ve all been taught that metal can’t go in the microwave, but that’s only partly true. There are certainly some metals that shouldn’t be put in the microwave, but that doesn’t include the high-quality stainless steel used by Black+Blum. This type of steel, combined with the smooth, rounded shape of the steel containers, means they won’t cause sparks and are safe for use in the microwave.
Can you put the container in the dishwasher, freezer, and oven?
Yes, yes, and yes. The meal prep containers are dishwasher-safe (with the lid placed on the top rack), freezer-safe, and the steel container is oven-safe (without the lid). When freezing food, be careful not to overfill the container, especially if the contents are liquid, as they may expand during freezing.
